What started as updates to family and friends when my daughter was diagnosed with cancer has turned into something bigger and incorporates how our family copes, lives, and laughs. I have always loved writing, but never thought something so tragic would actual turn into an inspiring story. I am a mother,blogger, a motivational speaker. My husband Zach is our rock for keeping things "light". Jack is our 7 year old who has had to grow up fast and done so in the most courageous way. Lucy is a Beatle Loving fashion Diva. Lucy and Jack are quite possibly some of the funniest kids I have encountered. Then there is Taco. Taco is our dachsund. He has as much print in this book as anybody and title rights because of what he offers for our family. This book covers the first part of Lucy's treatment with leukemia at St Jude Research Hospital. It talks about her trials, how our family dealt with the changes and tragedy, it offers stories of hope, and helps to educate and spread awareness about child hood cancer. This book is about how a family lives with cancer.

I have been following the Weber's via Facebook and their Blog for over a year now. This book is an amazing almost daily chronical of their journey through the insane world of that dreaded nemisis, childhood cancer, from diagnosis to treatments and beyond. They have a wickedly awesome sense of humor at times and who doesn't need that to get through what they have?I would recommend this book to EVERYONE!!!You'll cry, laugh til ya cry, and not want to put it down... have tissues handy!

Shawna and Zach write an amazing journey about their life with a "good" cancer diagnosis for their little princess, Lucy. What begins as a not much to worry about spell of not feeling well turns into a nightmare roller coaster with Lucy needing to fight for her life. This is about as real as it gets. They don't mince words. They don't mince emotions. It's spelled out, right along with the kind of sick humor you need to develop in order to survive chemo and the dreaded "dex"! If you've ever wanted to understand what a family goes through just to survive, here's the book to read. You'll LOVE Lucy and Jack and Shawna and Zach will break your heart while leaving you with stomach pains from bursts of laughter over the craziest of things. This is a family you'll love and a family you'll want to know!
It is a sad story to read, but very informative concerning childhood cancer. It brings to light the inside story of a very normal family helping their daughter fight cancer.
Beautifully written & perfect acknowledgement of what our families deal with through the cancer journey. It's a long and crappy time but we hold the faith that our child will increase the survival statistics. Great job Shawna... well written!

If you want to know what it's like to have a peek into an every day family have their feet swept from underneath them with one word CANCER, this is a great read! Very personal and lots of tears, smiles,and giggles. Thank you to the family for sharing this personal journey.
This book is an amazing look at the first year of a cancer parent. I have followed Lucy on facebook since her page was created, and this book helped understand the hardships they struggle with. I LOVE the book!
This is a food book about an amazing family. Lucy is a riot! I started following their story on Facebook about a year ago and this book caught me up on what it was like for them in the beginning. I can't imagine going through something like this. This family is getting through it all with a sense if humor and I believe laughter is the best medicine!
